Positions

Where the League stands on public issues

A position is the stand of the League on a specific, often narrowly defined, public issue.  A League position is established after members have studied an issue and achieved consensus on policies and practices that would best serve the public interest.  The League acts only within its positions; if the members have not studied and come to consensus on an issue, the League has no position and therefore does not have a stand on that issue.

About Us

The League's purpose is to encourage citizens to take part in their government.

The League is interested in helping citizens become more informed and learn the many ways to influence government on state, national and local levels.

The League is a non-partisan organization that believes responsible government should be resposive to the will of the people, mindful that a democratic government depends on the informed and active participation of its citizens.
